However, the practice of making predictions about weather conditions came to the United States with German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog from Pennsylvania provides meteorological predictions throughout the winter.

The whole thing began when researchers discovered mice that were hibernating throughout the winter. The initial idea was to predict six weeks of the seasons by watching how animals reacted to the climate.

Groundhogs make up the Sciuridae family of small, hairy mammals. During the winter, its primary objective is to hibernate. Groundhog Day mornings are a perfect time to see the animals peering out of their burrows.

Christmas Day

Presidents Daylight that falls on the third Monday in February, is regarded as to be a national holiday. The holiday honors the previous American presidents. In the past, Presidents Day has served as a day of honor for both Lincoln and Washington.
