Groundhogs are part the Sciuridae Family of small hairy mammals. In winter, their main purpose is to hibernate. Groundhog Day is the most common day they can be seen looking out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday of February) is a federal holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. It is a day to honour both Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a federal holiday that is not observed by all states despite being one. Certain states honor both presidents, whereas others only recognize one. The Presidents Day holiday is an opportunity to remember the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The background of Presidents’ Day is complicated. The Washington’s Birthday was the first title of the holiday, which is now known as Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday is an incredibly well-known and unofficial holidaythat is also known as Washington’s Day. In the latter half of 1870s it became a federal holiday. This led to Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Meteors and storms
Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around sun. A torrent of small meteors are released into space. They can be observed everywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more stunning than others. Nighttime is typically the best time to view.
The Perseids meteor shower is one of the most impressive and biggest of meteor showers. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/SwiftTuttle is the culprit. Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was a popular festival in ancient Rome. The cleansing and fertility ceremony took place during February in the middle. Priests offered animal sacrifices at an altar next to the Lapis Niger during the ritual. The hearth was then emptied of the blood of the animal. The protection and fertility of blood is believed to have been beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Other well-known Roman celebrations include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These were originally held in honor of Mars god of war.Vestalia, according to some academics is the most popular among the three.
Roman workweeks lasted eight days. Every day consisted of two parts: the morning and afternoon. Nundin was an eight-day collection, with the rest of the year comprised of 29 days.
