February 14th
Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is a day to celebrate love and passion. It is celebrated each year. The Middle Ages were a time when love was commonplace and the sacraments were more popular.
It was a celebration of romance between romantic partners and lovers during the 14th century. On Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send cards, flowers, and gifts to each other.
In the beginning of the nineteenth century commercial cards were readily accessible. The popularity of these cards grew due to the increasing demand of postcards printed in bulk. These postcards were also well-liked in shops since they were able to be displayed with themes.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved one the gift of candy or chocolate along with an arrangement or card. You could also choose to present them with jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. Even though it’s a big deal in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The idea for this celebration came from an old-fashioned belief system that was rooted in Pennsylvanians from the Dutch. German immigrants introduced the practice of forecasting weather to the United States. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who gives forecasts for the rest of winter.
The practice was first introduced when scientists found an animal that was hibernating in the winter. The idea was to forecast the weather conditions for the six remaining weeks by observing how animals respond to it.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae which is a small group of mammals that have hair. It hibernates during winter. Groundhog Day is the most regular day they can be in view from their burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday of February President’s Daylight is declared an American holiday. The holiday honors the previous American presidents. Presidents’ Day has historically been a day to honor both Washington and Lincoln.
While it is a federal holiday not all states observe it. Some states honor both presidents at the same time, while others only recognize one. But Presidents’ Day is widely recognized as a time to celebrate all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
The history of Presidents’ Day is complicated. Washington’s Birthday was the first title of the celebration.
An unofficial holiday that is well-known was the birthday of President Washington, also called Washington’s Day. It became a federal holiday in late 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was enacted by Congress.
Meteor storms
Each year each year, the Earth is orbiting around the sun. This triggers a rush of small meteors that are released into space. They can be observed all over the sky. Certain showers are more spectacular than others. The best moment to see them.
The Perseids meteor shower is among the most spectacular and biggest of meteor showers. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle created it. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, because the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most stunning fireworks, it is only natural to observe the phenomenon from there.

Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in the past of Rome. A ritual of cleansing and fertility was held in mid February. Priests offered animal sacrifices close to the altar of the Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The hearth was emptied of the blood of the animal. It was believed to be beneficial for fertility and protection of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held to honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were some other well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally meant to celebrate Mars the god of War.
Roman workweeks took eight days. There were two periods to each day: morning and afternoon. The nundin was eight days long, while the 29 days remaining were the rest of the days.
