February 14th
Valentine’s Day celebrates love and passion on the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages are the time that Valentine’s Day was first observed. This was the time when courtly love and the sacraments still were commonplace.
It was thought to be the celebration of love between romantically involved people from the fourteenth century. Valentine’s Day was a day that was a time for lovers and friends to exchange gifts, flowers and cards.
At the start of the 19th century commercial cards had already been created. The popularity of postcards printed in bulk also grew. They were displayed in themed displays that were put up in stores.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved ones a gift of chocolate or candy, as well as a card or flower. You could also choose to gift them with jewelry.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. Even though it’s a big deal in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The tradition was born out of superstition among Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. The custom of making predictions about weather conditions came to the United States with German immigration. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that provides forecasts for winter weather throughout the year.
The practice was first introduced after scientists discovered an animal that was hibernating during winter. The idea was to predict the following six weeks of the season by studying how animals responded to the weather.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae family of tiny, hairy mammals. They hibernate throughout the winter months. Groundhog Day mornings are a perfect time to see the animals peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday on the third Monday in February. It is an honor to all former American presidents. The Presidents Day holiday been a day to honor both Lincoln and Washington.
While it’s a federal holiday however, not all states observe it. Some states honor both birthdays of presidents on the same day while other states only honor one. While Presidents’ Day is now a common thing this holiday allows us to remember all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
There is a complicated history that explains Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the original name of the event. Today, it is Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday is well-known as an unofficial holidaythat is also known as Washington’s Day. It was made a federal holiday in late 1870s. Congress approved the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor showers
Every year, Earth rotates around its sun. Small meteors are released into the atmosphere. They may appear everywhere. Some showers are more impressive than others. Nighttime is the best time to watch.
Perseids are the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle created it. It is visible from the Northern Hemisphere. But, considering that the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most stunning fireballs, it makes sense to look at the phenomenon from the Southern Hemisphere.
There are four major meteor Showers each year. The Quadrantid is number one because of its powerful but brief maximum. Another is the Lyrid. It is famous for its odd surges. The Geminid is known for its casual appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a major holiday in ancient Rome. The cleansing and fertility ceremony was held in the middle of February. At this time, priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar next to the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was saturated with blood of the animal. The protection and fertility of the blood was believed to have been beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Since 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were originally celebrated to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. There were two phases to every day: morning and afternoon. The nundin was a collection of eight days. the other 29 days comprised the rest of the year.
