Groundhog Day is observed annually on February 2. It’s also a very popular holiday in Canada, but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.

The whole thing began when researchers discovered mice that were hibernating throughout the winter. The goal was to predict the following six weeks of the season by watching how animals responded to the weather.
Groundhogs make up the Sciuridae family of small, hairy mammals. It hibernates in winter. On the morning of Groundhog Day, they are often seen peeking out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight that falls on the third Monday in February, is regarded as a national holiday. It is a tribute to the past presidents of America. It is a day that celebrates the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and it has been Presidents Day since the beginning of its existence.
While it is an official holiday, not every state observes this holiday. While some states recognize both presidents’ birthdays on the same day while other states only honor one. Although Presidents’ day is now a common thing this holiday allows us to commemorate the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
It has had a complicated story. Washington’s Birthday was the first title of the holiday, which is now known as Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday, also called Washington’s Day is a well-known not-official holiday. It became an official holiday of the United States in the late 1870s. Congress approved the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year, the Earth is in orbit around the sun, which causes a torrent of small meteors to be released into space. They may appear in all directions. Certain showers are more striking than others. Nighttime is typically the best time to view.
Perseids is among the most stunning and spectacular meteor showers of the year 2018. This is due to Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle. It will be visible only from the Northern Hemisphere. However, since the Southern Hemisphere has the highest fireball rate, it’s worth looking from there.

Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was one of the most well-liked holidays in ancient Rome. In the middle of February the fertility and cleansing ceremony was conducted. Priests offered animal sacrifices at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. The hearth was then emptied of blood from the animal. It was believed that the hearth could provide fertility and protection for the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were among the popular Roman celebrations. These celebrations were initially held to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman workweeks took eight days. Each day had two parts: the morning and the afternoon. A nundin was a collection of eight days, and the remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
