February 14th

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. Groundhog Day is observed each year in Canada on February 2.
The tradition was born out of superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. German immigrants introduced the practice of making weather predictions to the United States. Punxsutawney Phil Groundhog, a groundhog from Pennsylvania, makes meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The idea for this custom was born out of an observation by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The initial idea was to forecast six weeks of the seasons by watching how animals responded to conditions.
The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. It is hibernates in winter. Groundhog Day is the most common day they can be observed looking out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight is observed on the third Monday in February, is considered to be to be a national holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. Presidents’ Day has traditionally served as a day to honor both Washington and Lincoln.
Although it’s a federal holiday however, many states do not observe it. Certain states honor both presidents simultaneously, whereas some only honor one president. The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely regarded as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
The history of the Presidents’ Day holiday is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the original name of the celebration. Today, it is Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly referred to as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. It was officially recognized as a national holiday in the late 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was approved by Congress.
Meteors hurling storms

Each year , there are four important meteor showers. The Quadrantid is the most prominent due to its power but brief maximum. The Lyrid also is famous for its unique surges. The Geminid is also famous for its pleasant appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in the ancient city of Rome. In February, in the middle there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was celebrated. Priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar to the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was filled up with blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial for fertility and protection of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Other well-known Roman festivities are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were originally meant to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman workweeks ran for eight days. Every day was divided into two parts: the morning or afternoon. A nundin consisted of 8 days. The rest of the year was comprised by the remaining days.
