Researchers discovered that mice went into hibernation in winter. The idea was to forecast the weather for the remaining six weeks, by observing how animals respond to it.
The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals includes groundhogs. In winter, their primary objective is to hibernate. Groundhog Day is a common time when they can be looking out from their burrows.

Presidents Daylight that falls on the third Monday of February, is considered to be an official holiday of the United States. It is a way to honor the previous presidents of America. The Presidents’ Day holiday was usually a day dedicated to Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is an official holiday of the United States but not every state observes it. Some states honor both birthdays of presidents on the exact same day while other states may only recognize only one. The Presidents Day holiday is an occasion to celebrate all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
Presidents’ Day has a convoluted past. Washington’s Birthday was originally the title of the holiday. It is now Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly referred to as Washington’s Day, is an unofficial holiday that is well-known. In the latter half of 1870s it was made a federal holiday. In the end, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year, Earth rotates around its sun. Small meteors are released into the atmosphere. They are visible in all directions. Some showers are more spectacular than others. It is at night that is the most ideal moment to see them.
One of the largest and most magnificent meteor showers that occurs throughout the year is the Perseids. It is likely that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible. It’s visible only from the Northern Hemisphere. However, since the Southern Hemisphere has the highest fireball rates, it’s worth checking out from there.
Each year , there are four meteor showers that are significant. One of them is Quadrantid. Its short , but massive peak is what makes it the most well-known. The Lyrid, another, is known for its distinctive surges. The Geminid is famous for its sexy appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was one of the most well-liked holidays in the past of Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony were held in the middle February. Priests offered sacrifices to animals at an altar near the Lapis Niger during the ritual. The hearth was cleaned of blood from the animal. The fertility and protection of blood is believed to be beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were two other well-known Roman festivals. The celebrations were initially planned to honor Mars, the god war.
The Roman workweek was 8 days long. There were two phases to every day: morning and afternoon. Nundins were collections of eight days, while the remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
