Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae which is a small group of hairy mammals. It hibernates during the winter months. Groundhog Day’s morning is when they can be seen peeking out of the burrows.

The third Monday in February is the Presidents’ Daylight. It is an official holiday for the United States of America. It’s an honor to all previous American presidents. Presidents’ Day has traditionally served as a day to celebrate both Washington and Lincoln.
While it’s an official holiday of the United States but not every state observes the holiday in all states. Certain states honor both presidents at the same time, while other states only honor one. Presidents Day has become an occasion to celebrate all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
There is a complicated history of Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the celebration. The day is now known as Presidents’ Day.
An unofficial holiday that is well-known was Washington’s birthday, often known as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s, however it became a federally recognized holiday. In response, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.

The Lupercalia was a popular festival in ancient Rome. In February, a fertility-cleansing ceremony was held. Priests offered animal sacrifices close to the altar of Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The hearth was filled with blood of the animal. It was believed to be beneficial for the fertility and protection of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor Ceres, the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were three other famous Roman celebrations. These celebrations were initially intended to honor Mars the god of War.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. Every day was divided into two parts: the morning and afternoon. A nundin was an eight-day collection, with the remainder of the year made up of 29 days.
