February 14th
Valentine’s Day celebrates love and passion on the 14th of February every year. The holiday’s origins can be traced to the Middle Ages when courtly love and sacraments were common.
It was regarded as an occasion to celebrate love between romantic partners and friends in the fourteenth century. Valentine’s Day was a day where it was commonplace for lovers and friends to send gifts, flowers and cards.
In the beginning of the 19th century commercial cards were readily available. Popularity also grew for postcards printed in bulk. They were popular in retail stores as displays with themes.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved one a gift of chocolate or candy, along with a card or flower. You could even decide to give them jewelry.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. It’s also a well-known holiday in Canada however, Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The festival was born out of superstition among Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. The custom of forecasting weather was brought to America through German immigrants. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who makes forecasts for the rest of winter.
After scientists found out that mice hibernate in winter, they set the stage for this habit. It was planned to predict the next six weeks by studying the way animals react to the weather.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae family of tiny, hairy mammals. It hibernates during winter. Groundhog Day is a common day when they can be seen peering out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as an American holiday that falls on the third Monday in February. It celebrates the former American presidents. It has been a day to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.
While it’s a federal holiday but not every state observes the holiday in all states. Certain states honor both presidents at the same time, while others only recognize one. But Presidents’ Day is widely recognized as a time to celebrate the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
Presidents Day has had a tangled past. Washington’s Birthday was the name used for the day of celebration. It is now known as Presidents Day.
A well-known unofficial holiday was Washington’s birthday, often known as Washington’s Day. It was recognized as an official holiday of the United States Congress in the latter 1870s. As a result, Congress approved the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Meteor showers
Each year, Earth moves around the sun. Each year, small meteors are released into space. They can appear almost anywhere in the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time to watch.
Perseids is among the most stunning and spectacular meteor showers of 2018. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the cause of it. Although it won’t be seen from the Northern Hemisphere due to the huge fireballs observed in the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth watching from there.
Four meteor showers of significance occur every year. The Quadrantid 1 is well-known for its explosive but short peak. Another notable for its unique surges is The Lyrid. The Geminid is famous for its sexy appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman festival that was adored by many. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was performed in February. In this ceremony, priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The blood of the animal was poured into the hearth. It was thought that the hearth could provide fertility and protection for the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia was among the other popular Roman festivities. They were initially held to honour Mars, the god of war.Vestalia According to certain experts was the most popular among the three.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. Each day consisted of two parts: the morning or the afternoon. A nundin was a collection of eight days, while the other 29 days made up the rest of the year.
