February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day that is a celebration of love and passion, is observed each year on the 14th of February. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day first celebrated. This is a time when courtly love as well as sacraments were still common.
It was thought to be an occasion to celebrate love between romantically involved friends from the fourteenth-century. Valentine’s Day was a day that was a time for lovers and friends to send gifts, flowers and cards.
The early nineteenth century saw the advent of commercial cards. Postcards printed in bulk also became popular. These cards were a hit in stores as themed displays.
Valentine’s Day is a tradition that includes the gift of candy or chocolate along with a card and flowers. You might even choose to present them with jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. Groundhog Day is celebrated annually in Canada on February 2.
The belief in the superstition of Pennsylvanians Dutch people gave rise to the celebration. However, the custom of making weather predictions was introduced to the United States with German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who makes forecasts for the remainder of winter.
The story began when researchers discovered a mouse that hibernated throughout the winter. It was designed to predict the six weeks ahead by studying the way animals react to weather conditions.
The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. They hibernate in winter. Groundhog Day is the most regular day they can be in view from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday of February) is a holiday that is celebrated across the nation. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. Presidents’ Day is usually a day dedicated to Lincoln and Washington.
Even though it is a federal holiday some states do not observe it. Certain states observe both birthdays of the presidents on the exact day, while some states only honor only one. The Presidents’ Day holiday is now widely recognized as a means of honoring all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
The background of Presidents’ Day is complicated. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the celebration. Today, it is Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday is a well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. It was declared a federal holiday in late 1870s. Congress passed the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year it is the time when the Earth passes through its circle around the sun creating tiny meteors to explode into space. They are visible in the sky and are everywhere. Some showers seem more impressive than others. It is generally the nighttime moment to observe.
Perseids are the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle is to blame. It’s visible only in the Northern Hemisphere. However, because the Southern Hemisphere has the highest fireball rates, it’s worthwhile taking a look from that.
Each year there are four important meteor showers. The Quadrantid one is well-known for its explosive but short peak. Another notable for its unique surges is The Lyrid. The Geminid is also famous for its approachable appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman festival, which was loved by many. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was performed in February. During this rite the priests offered sacrifices of animals on an altar beside the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was filled with blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial to the fertility of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were two other well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally held in honor of Mars, the godof war.
Roman working weeks were eight days long. There were two parts of each day: the morning as well as the evening. Nundin was a collection consisting of eight days. The remaining 29 days comprised the rest of the calendar year.
