It is a federal holiday which not all states observe even though it is one. Some states honor both birthdays of the presidents on the exact same day . Other states may only recognize only one. Although Presidents’ day is now a common thing this holiday allows us to commemorate all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
It has a long background. Washington’s Birthday was the original name for the day of celebration. Today, it’s called Presidents Day.

Other well-known Roman festivities include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These were originally celebrated in honor of Mars the god of war.
Roman working weeks had eight days. There were two portions of each day: the morning and afternoon. The nundin lasted 8 days. The rest of the year was constituted by the remaining days.
