Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as an American holiday that falls on the third Monday of February. It pays tribute to past American presidents. It is a day which celebrates the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and has been Presidents Day since the beginning of its existence.
Although it’s a federal holiday many states don’t observe it. Certain states honor the presidents of both countries, while others only recognize one. While Presidents’ Day is now standard, it allows us to commemorate the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.

Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most celebrated holidays in ancient Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony was held in mid February. Priests offered animal sacrifices on an altar near the Lapis Niger during the ritual. The animal’s blood was dumped in the hearth. The belief was that it would be beneficial for fertility and protection of the grain fields.

Roman workweeks were eight days long. There were two sections to each day, the morning part and the afternoon. The nundin was a collection of eight days, and the remaining 29 days comprised the remainder of the year.
