The third Monday of February is known as Presidents’ Daylight. It is an official holiday for the United States of America. It’s an honor to all past American presidents. It is a holiday that honors the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and has been Presidents Day since the beginning of its existence.

Despite being an official holiday of the United States however, not all states observe it. Some states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, but some states only recognize one. But, Presidents’ Day is now widely recognized as a way to recognize the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.

There is a long and complicated story that explains Presidents Day. The Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the celebration. Today, Presidents’ day is the official title.

Washington’s birthday is an incredibly well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s, however it was declared a federally recognized holiday. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was approved by Congress.

Meteor showers

Every year it is the time when the Earth is in circle around the sun causing a torrent of small meteors to explode into space. They are visible in the sky and are everywhere. Certain showers are more impressive than others. Nighttime is often the best time to watch.

Perseids are among the most spectacular and stunning meteor shower of the year. It is likely that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is the cause. It will be visible only from the Northern Hemisphere. The fertility and protection of the blood was believed to have been beneficial to the grain field.

Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held to honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented back to the year 202 BC.

Other famous Roman celebrations include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were originally intended to pay tribute to Mars, the god war.

Roman workweeks were eight days long. Each day consisted of two parts: morning or the afternoon. A nundin was eight days long. The remaining 29 days were called the rest.
