Although it’s an official holiday, several states do not observe it. Certain states honor both presidents, whereas others only recognize one president. While Presidents’ Day is now standard this holiday allows us to commemorate all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.

The history of Presidents’ Day is complex. Washington’s Birthday was originally the name of the event. Today, it is Presidents Day.

An unofficial holiday that is well-known was the birthday of Washington, which is often called Washington’s Day. In the latter half of 1870s it was made a federal holiday. In the end, Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.

Meteors and storms
