Washington’s Birthday, also known as Washington’s Day, is an not a holiday recognized by the government but is widely known. In the 1870s however, it became a federally recognized holiday. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was passed by Congress.
Meteors hurling storms

Every year there are four important meteor showers. One of the most well-known meteor showers is the Quadrantid. This shower is known for its short but extremely strong peak. The Lyrid, another, is renowned for its peculiar surges. Furthermore the Geminid is famous for its attractive appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was a major holiday in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony took place during February in the middle. During the ceremony, priests offered animal sacrifices on an altar in front of the Lapis Niiger. The hearth was filled with blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial for fertility of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations have been recorded.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were a few other well-known Roman celebrations. These were originally celebrated in honor of Mars who was the god of war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. Each day had two parts: morning or the afternoon. A nundin was 8 days long. The remaining 29 days were called the remainder.
