The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely recognized as a day to honor the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.

Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman holiday that was loved by many. In February, in the middle there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was held. During this rite, priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar next to the Lapis Naiger. Blood from the animal was poured in the hearth. It was believed that it would benefit the grains by ensuring their fertility and securing the plants from harm.

Other famous Roman festivities are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were originally planned to pay tribute to Mars, the god war.
