It was celebrated the romance between romantic friends and lovers in the fourteenth century. On Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send flowers, cards and presents to one another.
In the beginning of the 19th century commercial cards were readily available. Popularity also grew for postcards printed in bulk. These postcards were also sought-after in shops because they could be displayed in themes.
Valentine’s Day is a tradition that includes an assortment of candy or chocolate gifts and an arrangement of flowers and a card. It is also possible to present them with jewelry.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
This celebration was born from superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians speaking Dutch. The American custom of making forecasts for weather was introduced to America through German immigrants. Punxsutawney Philip Punxsutawney Philip, a Pennsylvania groundhog, offers meteorological forecasts throughout the rest of the winter.
When researchers discovered that mice hibernate during winter, they established the stage for this habit. The original plan was to forecast six weeks of each season by studying how animals responded to conditions.
The Sciuridae family of tiny, hairy mammals includes groundhogs. It hibernates throughout winter. Groundhog Day is the most regular day they can be observed looking out of their burrows.

The third Monday of February is known as Presidents’ Daylight. It is recognized as a national holiday. It is a day to honor previous American presidents. Presidents’ Day has traditionally been a day to celebrate both Washington and Lincoln.
While it is a federal holiday not all states observe this day. While some states recognize both the presidents’ birthdays on the same day as others however, some states only recognize only one. However, Presidents’ Day is now widely recognized as a means of honoring the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
Presidents Day has had a tangled past. Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the holiday that is now referred to as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly called Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. However, it was recognized as a federal holiday in the late 1870s. Congress passed the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year, the Earth’s orbit revolves around the sun. Small, tiny meteors are released into space. On the horizon, they can be seen everywhere. Some showers are more spectacular than others. Nighttime is the best time to watch.
Perseids is among the most beautiful and impressive meteor showers of the year 2018. This is due to the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle. While it will be visible in the Northern Hemisphere because of its massive fireworks however, the Southern Hemisphere also has the most visibility.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky each year. Number one is the Quadrantid. Its short but powerful maximum is what is most famous. Another one is the Lyrid. It’s famous for the odd surges it produces. The Geminid is also renowned for its approachable appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was a popular celebration in the ancient city of Rome. In February, a fertility cleansing ceremony was conducted. During the ceremony, priests offered animal sacrifices to an altar near the Lapis Niiger. The hearth was then emptied of the blood of the animal. It was believed that it would benefit grain crops by ensuring fertility and securing them.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was celebrated in honor of Ceres the harvest goddess. Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations have been recorded.
Other popular Roman celebrations are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. The celebrations were originally intended to pay tribute to Mars the god of war.
The Roman workweek was 8 days long. There were two parts to each day: morning and the afternoon. Nundin was a collection consisting of eight days. The remaining 29 days made up the rest of the calendar year.
